Benefits of a Bed Mat
One of the biggest benefits of a bed mat is the price – it is a cheaper option when looking to protect your truck. It prevents cargo from sliding around your truck bed and damaging your truck. They’re also easy to install and some won’t rust, crack, break or fade. Additionally, they are easy to take out and clean.
Problems with Bed Mats
While it is one of the cheaper options, it also offers less protection than other bedliners. They don’t protect the sides or tailgate, so they can still get dented and scratched. While installation can be easy, some mats are not custom made for trucks and need to be cut to fit. They often don’t fit as well as other bedliners. Finally, bed mats can be hard to secure. They often need additional Velcro or other adhesive to secure them, especially in the corners. If not properly secured, the bed mat can fold, slide, or even fly out of the truck.
