Every bed liner we sell is made in America. We do this for a variety of reasons big and small. Here’s some background on why we’re proud to be Made In The USA.
American-Made Products Are Good For America
According to the Economic Policy Institute EPI, manufacturing jobs and trade deficits go hand in hand. The EPI states that the US lost nearly 6 million manufacturing jobs between 1998 and 2012, and most of these job losses were are result of our nation’s growing trade deficit.
Trade deficits are caused by US consumers buying more imported goods than the US can export – if every US consumer made an effort to buy products that were made in America, our trade deficit would be smaller and our economy would be stronger.
It’s About Quality
We could probably save a few bucks buying our materials from some overseas factory, but we refuse to compromise on quality. Working with skilled American companies, we’re able to oversee production and ensure quality.
What’s more, considering all the news stories about overseas manufacturers using sub-standard materials and/or counterfeit materials, it’s a wonder to us that any company would source parts or materials from overseas.
Regardless, by producing the DualLiner in the USA, we can ensure our customers are getting the best quality product available.
It’s About Value, Too
It’s important to differentiate between “price” and “value,” as the two are often used interchangeably when they are in fact quite different.
- Price is what you pay
- Value is what you get
A truck bed liner with a good price isn’t necessarily a truck bed liner that’s a good value. For example, you can buy some DIY bed liner paint for less than the cost of a couple tickets to a football game, but you might end up with a bed liner that looks faded and chalky in just a couple of years. You might even end up with a bed liner that’s peeling.[insert old peeling bedliner image – should be a few in the media library]
On the other hand, you can spend nearly $1,000 for a beautiful, painted to match spray-in liner, but you’ll still have a liner that doesn’t offer any dent protection, that can’t be transferred from one truck to the next, that doesn’t have a commercial warranty, etc.
We make our products in America because – even thought it costs us a little more to manufacturer, the quality is excellent. That ensures that the DualLiner offers maximum value – far more value than you’ll find in a typical spray-in liner, let alone a cheap DIY or drop-in bed liner.
At the end of the day, being Made in America is one of our strongest core beliefs. We thank all our customers for helping us keep the American dream alive.
