Certain truck makers continue to do well with their full-size trucks, with Ram Truck’s making a strong push with 23.3% growth over November of last year and a 20% increase in sales for 2012 year to date. Ford’s F series also showed a significant increase at 17.9% above November of 2011 and 11.6% increase year to date over last year at this point. Chevrolet’s Silverado and the GMC Sierra were down about 3800 units collectively, versus 2011 in year to date sales. Some are saying that a slight boost in sales numbers this month was due in large part to Hurricane Sandy and the push by some to get a few big purchases done before we find out what Congress might (or might not) do before the end of the year. These totals put the auto industry on track to sell over 15 million total units by year’s end; making it, potentially, one of the best sales years in quite a while!
