The combination of a rubber mat and UV treated hard plastic outer walls make DualLiner the best bed liner combo around.
When you think of a “combo” you most likely think of a fast food menu. These prepackaged meals usually give you a sandwich, an order of fries, and a drink. Judging from the popularity of the combo meals I would guess that a majority of people take advantage of the economical, convenient, and easy to order meals. What Dual Liner does with their bed liner is a little different, they took the best parts of all available bed liners on the market and rolled them into one bed liner, producing a “Hybrid” bed liner of sorts. The Dual Liner Truck Bed Liner is actually a “combination” of the “Drop In Bed Liner” and the “Rubber Bed Mat.” Dual Liner combined the excellent dent resistance with the incredible scratch protection and did away with any negative qualities that each of these bed liner had individually.
The sidewalls are made from similar technology as the drop in bed liner, the difference is what elevates this new bed liner to the highest level of protection ever offered. The old drop in bed liners were a one piece universal application that was well known for shifting around in the back of the truck as you were driving. One of the improvements to this type of bed liner was making it into a multiple piece system that each panel fit exactly to the contour of the specific make and model of truck, the other improvement was to utilize the rubber mat to cover the bed and hold it in place with a channel that was built into each of the sidewall pieces.
The technology behind the Zero-Skid floor was derived from the rubber bed mat. Rubber soaks up impacts to prevent dents. With both plastic liners and bed mats, part of the way they protect from dents is by spreading impact hits over a larger surface area. Hit the plastic or rubber and the impact force gets distributed over a much wide area, instead of being concentrated at one specific point. That’s why you get few if any dents under plastic liners or rubber mats. Dual Liner’s Zero Skid bed mat is a full 3/8ths of an inch thick, scratches cannot get past the rubber. The rubber itself is very hard to scratch for one thing and it is nearly impossible to cut through thick rubber mat to the metal beneath. That means any possible scratches and scrape marks also get soaked up by the material of the bed liner before making it to the trucks bed itself.
Water often causes severe damage to truck beds because of it universal fit, this allows dirt and debris to plug up the drain holes. Water would pool out of sight underneath the one piece plastic liners and if the bed liner has been in the truck for any length of time, it is likely that the trucks finish has already been compromised. The pools of water, if undetected, lead to rust and corrosion. Standard bed mats would also trap water under neath because they laid directly on the sheet metal, Dual Liner took care of both of these fault’s by raising the Zero Skid mat up off from the trucks bed with hundreds of rubber cleats built on the underside. This created an airspace between the mat and the trucks bed to breath freely. This also provides an excellent channel for water to drain out, utilizing all of the factory designated drain holes.
